“ Yo Gotham, let me tell you about my latest culinary adventure in West Reading, PA. The BatSignal led me straight to Tonys, a joint known for its cheesesteaks and Italian eats! Lets talk chow I went classic with a 10inch cheesesteak for scale in the pic, I am 7 tall. Juicy meat, melty cheese, all wrapped up in Hey delicious roll your choice of playing or sesame seed. But heres a fun twist I chowed down at one of their outside tables decorated with images of the Beatles! Even snapped a pic with Paul McCartney himself painted on the table, of course. Even better, I met the big man himself, Tony, and snapped a pic talk about celebrity status! What a great guy. Pro tip Dont be afraid of the halfpound fries. This aint no measly side dish pretty sizeable. In the pic, I already ate about a quarter of the portion. The service? Faster than a Batmobile speeding around Gotham. Special shoutout to Amethyst at the register! Ordering in person was supposed to be a longer wait says the sign, but my food materialized with the speed of the Flash! The locally produced Reading Draft soda hits the spot. I even finished things off strong with a cannoli for dessert. Sweet, creamy, and the perfect way to celebrate a successful food recon mission. If visiting in the winter, be sure to bring a cape to keep you warm because this is a traditional cheese steak style joint with outside seating only. Overall, Tonys gets the BatmanJawn stamp of approval! Its got all the fixings of a classic cheesesteak spot, with a friendly atmosphere and a hint of rock n roll that even the Dark Knight can appreciate. “ Reviews are correct says this Philly native. The cheesesteak is off the hook. No sauce and onion bull like these country folk automatically add. Order early or go to the back of the line. As info many reviewers are Berks County natives who think cheesesteaks automatically come with sauce and onions, perogies are a side dish, sheetz has good hoagies, dominos is good pizza and wait for a seat at the Olive Garden. These are world class cheesesteaks AND the rolls are both crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, as they should be. Dont change a thing. ”
“ Ok, we were to start!!! The cheesesteak was phenomenal!! The steak was lightly chopped but not destroyed into a thousand pieces. The Cooper Sharp was the perfect compliment to an amazing sandwich. And the bread was the perfect vehicle for such a delicious treat!!! The jersey fries were to die for!!! Fresh cut with a light batter that will become an instant craving. The best part was the person who helped us. Amethyst was super friendly and truly made the experience a 10!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend if youre within 1 hr totally worth the drive! Theres no need to travel to Philly for the real deal its in West Reading at Tonys!!!!! ”
“ Damn good steak sandwich on super fresh roll, perfectly seasoned, perfect fried onions, great cheese options, not a greasy mess. Really well done! Ill be back for certain. It is first come, first served though, so on Fridays, when it starts getting onto lunchtime, get your order in early, because they get slammed, and you might have to wait, which is the only way that they can keep it fair. Parking is kind of tight too, but not terrible.its all worth the wait though. People working the order window are very polite, and speak to you like adults. All great things. ”
